Hello everyone, I am the youngest girl in the factory.

It's time for the popular science class again, Today we are talking about the iron-carbon alloy material used to manufacture parts with large thickness-cast steel.

Let's first understand the classification of cast steel.

Low-carbon steels with a carbon content of less than 0.2%:
medium-carbon steels with a carbon content between 0.2% and 0.5%;
high-carbon steels with a carbon content of more than 0.5%.

In addition, there are low-alloy steel and high-manganese steel.

The comprehensive mechanical properties of cast steel materials are high, the compressive strength and tensile strength are basically the same, the wall thickness change has little effect on the mechanical properties, and the vibration absorbing ability is low.

Because the wall thickness change has little effect on the mechanical properties, it is suitable for the manufacture of parts with large thickness, but due to the characteristics of large internal stress and warpage, it is not suitable for the manufacture of parts with complex geometric structures.
