How to choose a suitable nodulizer?
6 basic points to keep in mind:
spheroidizing temperature,
treatment bag size, spheroidizing process,
treatment weight, silicon content,
sulfur content in the original molten iron;
1. Spheroidizing temperature
If the spheroidization temperature is higher than 1480℃,
the spheroidization reaction will be more intense,
resulting in a decrease in the magnesium absorption rate.
In order to make the spheroidization reaction proceed smoothly,
a spheroidizer with relatively high calcium content can be selected;
If the spheroidization temperature is less than 1480°C,
a spheroidizer with a relatively low calcium content can be used.
2. Processing package size
If the height-diameter ratio of the treatment package is 1:1.
Due to the loss of magnesium vapor,
 the absorption rate of magnesium will be reduced,
so it is recommended to use a spheroidizer with a higher calcium content.
If the height-diameter ratio of the treatment bag is 2:1,
 the spheroidization reaction will be relatively stable,
the magnesium vapor will diffuse into the molten iron,
and the absorption rate of magnesium will increase.
3. Spheroidizing process
If the capping method is not used,
the smoke generated by the spheroidization reaction
will enter the atmosphere and produce dazzling white light.
 In order to make the spheroidization reaction proceed smoothly,
a spheroidizer with low magnesium and high calcium can be used.
 If the ladle process is adopted,
the molten iron will not splash and generate less smoke and dust.
Therefore, a nodulizer with high magnesium and low calcium
can be used to reduce the added amount and the cost of nodularization.
